Wotton-under-Edge Hospital

Vets

Each team has vets who will consult with clients to give vaccines or diagnose the problem with a pet.  We tend to do theses surgeries at 9a.m. and then 2 p.m. and 4p.m. finishing at about 6.30p.m.  An emergency can always been seen outside of these times.  During the rest of the day the animals that need operations, scans, xrays and dental procudures will be treated.  They are sedated when they are admitted to the hospital to reduce any concerns that they may have about being left with us and after their procedure they are monitored by the nurses during recovery.

Veterinary Nurses

There are qualified Veterinary Nurses and Student Veterinary Nurses at the surgeries and hospitals.  Nurses care for the animals while they are with us, monitor Temperature, Pulse and Respiration and give them the necessary  medications.

Nurses will also assist the Vet in theatre and are responsible for cleaning and sorting all instruments, drapes, theatre, overalls etc.

Nurses are also available in clinics to see pets for nailclipping, weight watchers checks, blood pressure monitoring etc.

Care Assistants

The Care Assistants are here to care for the animals but they help us with many other tasks as well.  They can also driv the ambulance so that if a pet needs to be collected from your home and brought into the Surgery we are usually able to do this at your convenience

Receptionists

The Receptionists are there to greet you and ensure that you and your pet get the best attention at all times.
